Exactly. all those tracks u played on unleashed most likely werent even made at all on that editor. thats thats the benefits of a computer. all those replicas for the most part are made on photoshop or some kind of similar program. pure editor tracks are horrible. and im sure the same thing would happen if they tried putting one into a game on a console. its just wasted space really. they already solved this problem anyway for the next game monthly dlc.
An editor for a console is a waste of time.
First, there would have to be a sharing and rating system to make them usable online.
Then there's all the added overhead of including all the recources for users to create with. That takes up a lot of space and a lot development time.
Now, where are we gonna put all those tracks that everyone is gonna make? You can eat up 250GB in no time, and end up moving to an external HDD.
Then we all have to download them from the creator before we can even race. How'd you like to wait out six of your buddies while they download your stuff, all the while they're telling you how awesome their tracks are?
It's a huge time sink to make a quality track, and people will cut corners to save time and or space. So what you'll end up with is a bunch of tracks that look like their from MXSim. Just tracks cut into empty, open areas void of anything you'd actually see on a motocross track. Very few of you would take the time to pay attention to details. And those of you who do take the time will be creating tracks far more often than actually riding them.
And of course if they did actually give us an editor, we'd just complain about how they should have done it.
Forget it. It's a development nightmare that only appeals to a super minority. It ain't gonna happen.
microsoft would love it though making money off other peoples work, dlc they are the ones that started the decision to charge it so they get some type of money out of it
well id love editor!! i mean i get tired of the same track lap after lap. i mean even if it wasnt as good as the premade tracks it would still be different and just how YOU want it. and how abt this. they can put it in there, the ppl who want it will be VERY pleased, and the ppl that dont want it dont have to use it... its that simple. but if its not, then the ppl that dont want it dont really care, and those who do are not happy and may not buy the game.. then they loose money. and thats never any good..
