Heres a my review of the past games to help the developers with the next game First id like to say that I love this game series, and I want to make some suggestions for the next game, this is going to be long, so bear with me.  Its been a long time since Ive played mx unleashed or mx v atv unleashed so ill be brief on those, amd I wont comment on offroad furies b/c even tho it was rainbow studios, I mean come on… its quads. Up until reflex, free ride was the reason to play these games. Yes id do all the races, but once I was done with that it was just about messing around in free ride.

Mx Unleashed

Pros -Great soundtrack

-Integrating vehicles into the freeride areas where u had to just go to them, awesome!

-The free ride challenges were fun, the hits and runs.

Great game, I would play it if I still had my ps2.

 No Cons

Mx Vs Atv Unleashed

-Soundtrack was ok.

Pros

Lots of lvls

Cons

-Menus and career sucked.

-To switch vehicles u had to reload the level, and the levels took forever to load, worst feature of all.

Mx vs Atv Untamed

-Customization and tuning of the bikes, awesome.

-The loading area was awesome, finally no more waiting for the lvls to load.

-Soundtrack was good

-Integrating the different events into the freeride areas, sweet.

                                          Freeride 10/10

After a long day at the track or work my friends and I would like to just freeride and find stuff because u don’t have to focus!!! I hate trying to just relax and losing because im not trying.

I cant evven begin to talk about how many step downs and right hips we have found, or this would never end.

                               Gameplay 6/10

Fun,  tracks were alright. A little bit too simplistic. Not much to say about this.

Mx vs Atv Reflex

Soundtrack is like nonexistent, u cant change the songs or see them or anything, and most of the songs suck.

Menus/career were too bland, not enough game in them, Untameds’ career branch thing was much better.

No preloading, interesting but it think it was a good decision.

                                                     Freeride 2/10

No Pros

Cons

When I first bought this game I hated it. Why?

Because everything had been about freeride up to this point.

If theres one thing I can say about freeride its that it is too crowded and complex, too realistic. The whole point is to find big or cool jumps and you cant do that with uneven gound because u cant get any speed

…and only 3 areas???? Come on, really?

                                 Gameplay 9/10

Pros

-The everchanging terrain. AWESOME! I had dreamed about this since the first game

-Reflex- Took a little time to get used to, but once I did it adds so much more to racing.

-That u can race against like 12 people or whatever, the more the better

Cons

-YOU CANT GO OFF THE TRACK!! ARGH! I always want to know whats just over that hill, or if I could find jumps anywhere jumping in and outta the track.

Online play

The way it just puts u in a game I don’t like. There should be the option to make your own and then there should be like a list with all the different games and what they are

So heres what I am saying, a perfect game would be designed the way untamed was as far as enviroments and the game structure go, and using the terrain thingy where u affect it and the reflex rider control.

I also agree with what the other guy said about the track editor, that would be sweet, and the ability to download other peoples tracks would keep people entertained and the devs wouldn’t have to be making new tracks all he time to keep people playing.

U could also have places that are exclusively freeeride, no events in them, but itd be awesome if you like did real places such as ocotillo wells… I know it was in the first one but I mean like accurately, with shell reef, blowsand, gas dome, all the spots, not just a desert looking place named ocotillo wells. If u don’t and go with the editor, I will. Glamis I cant really blame u for since its everchanging.

…and that’s just my 2 cents.

Nice.  Seems like you really put some thought and reasoning into this and was able to compare acreoss multiple titles.  No easy feat by any means.  I also can really appreciate the pros and cons along with how you rated everything.  Well constructed post and whether you agree or not very concise imo.

Thank you for the feedback!  :-)

That is awesome feedback! That is a lot of what I was thinking about each game. Freeride isn't what was huge to me in any of the games, other than riding the tracks without having to be perfect (going off the track and cutting over to a group of friends on the other side of the course was amazing!!!!) I mean, I enjoyed going out and exploring, but I guess I just really like track riding. One little sidenote, and this isn't a big deal whatsoever to me, but there most definitely is preloading in Reflex.... You just aren't timing it right or you are only holding back on the stick instead of becoming neutral on the bike and trying different timings of leaning back coming up to the face of a jump... Seriously try it and you will notice how much you can preload/scrub. Other than that, you summed up the series very well.

Nice post! The freeride areas are less "alive" than in Untamed; I always thought it was cool to see the people chillin' by the campsite, the deer grazing, and the CPU bikes doing practice laps. But to give the Reflex freeride areas credit, the new map feature and the ability to drop a flag to restart from are the best additions yet to the freeride mode. I love not having to backtrack everytime I find a new hit or kicker (which there are several awesome ones, if you look hard enough). I now cringe everytime I think about how I had to climb all the way back up the mountain to redo the chairlift jump at Pine Lakes in Untamed...

my one major complaint with reflex was that you can't explore the environments as much off the race tracks, like you could in all the other games. That, to me, was the biggest let down for reflex.

Haha thanks. Ive been playing these games awhile. Yea i know what you are saying about preloading, theres just like no meter for it, and i also love the fact that u can do real scrubs now, in untamed i could never get them down. O and yea i forgot about the flags, that is pretty cool.

100% agreed.
