Skimming Whoops with ATF Suzuki's OnTheFknGas Whoops are an important part of supercross races.  Done correctly, they allow you to carry tons of speed into the next part of the track, and you may even gain some time on the rest of the riders. If you dont do them correctly, you will lose valuable time and speed, and you wont get the drive you need through the next corner or section. 1. Setting up for the whoops: When you are setting up for a whoops section, make sure you take the corner beforehand wide. This is for two things. First, so you can enter with as much speed as possible. Remember, you arent going to gain speed in the whoops, only carry it, so you want to start off with as much as possible. Second, so you can enter straightly. If you dont enter them in a straight line you will either swap out, or you will fly into the tuff-blocks or into other riders (this is a common result on tracks that have whoops as the first corner). 2. Entering the whoops: There are two ways you can enter the whoops, and it depends on the face of the first whoop. If it is like a ramp that leads you up ontop of the whoops, then you should lean back just before you enter and continue leaning back thoughout the section. If the face it pointed like the others, then you need to do it differently. These whoops will launch you into the air, and have you land at about the 3rd or 4th bump. On sections like this, dont lean back right away, or you will find yourself wheeling dangerously on your rear wheel. This is fun if you're Travis Pastrana, (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tlAJSHU9IHs) but I dont advise it in a race. Instead, stay neutral as you enter, and only lean back once you've landed. 3. Going though: Pin it and lean back straight! Don't turn when going though whoops. You'll either lose speed, or crash. If you do need to turn, try leaning slightly to the sides. 4. Exiting whoops: This depends if there's a corner after the whoops. If there isnt, then your job is easy; Keep it pinned until the corner comes. If there is a tight corner right after the whoops, let off the gas on the last 4-5 whoops, and let them act as braking bumps. You may be able to apply a bit of brakes, but too much will have the same result as turning. When you are off the gas, make sure you are still leaning back until you have exited the whoops! These are my tips on how to skim whoops. Hope it helps and maybe I'll see some of you on the starting gates for xbox 360.

I find also i know theres one supercross track where you take a left hand sweeper and after that theres whoops and the first ones a monster. What i do is you come into the sweeper tight and carry speed to the out side, Then i square up to the whoops and pick up the front tire just enough to clear the first whoop. This helps you prevent jumping in. It also keeps up your momentum. Give er a try!
