THROTTLE CONTROL AND BODY POSITIONING with SCRUB2WIN
Mon, 04/05/2010 - 11:02am
hello everyone todays tip is on throttle control and body positioning!
first off throttle control is very key in reflex as it is in real riding. to be the fastest on the track you need to understand when you can pin it down or when you should let off for more control.
1) sometimes going fast means you need to slow down. being out of control through corners will have disastrous effects on the outcome of your race!
2) know the corner. having knowledge of the corner is great for line chose and ultimately how much momentum you need to give up to nail the next section
3) square up that corner!! starting out wide will allow you to carry more speed through it and keep up that precious momentum
4) use your judgement. understand that corners are not the same as straight aways. be either off the gas or partially on the throttle because you need the control of the bike in order to turn the bike!
5) body positioning is a key idea when it comes to riding because the front wheel needs to stay down to have the opportunity of keeping the throttle in a pinned position.
6) be SMOOTH!!! i cannot stress how big of a game changer this quality of riding has on your race. pick fast lines, keep control, look ahead, know where you want to be, and keep your front wheel down
that is scrub2win's riding tip of the day brought to you by dstaar
