I think it's time for a focus on simulation Supercross/Motorcross

I do really enjoy this game. But after I watch Supercross every week I yearn for a game that can replicate that experience. And it seems sport games are striving for realism, (ex would be the entire line of EA sport games, then you have UFC undisputed seeking realism) so there is definitely a draw for realistic games. I would love to see the shift in focus on getting rid of the 4-wheeled vechicles and go back to the roots of dirt bikes. Here are a few things I would like to see... - A true championship series, (if you fail to qualify, then you fail. Try harder at the next venue) - Better Bar to bar racing with the AI. Actually have the good racers up front, (its lame to see RC and Stewart struggling in the back of the pack while some unknown wins. I would like to see more realism with that, and its ok if the top guys don't win everytime because of a crash, bad start, or something. - This one might turn some people off. How about when you fall off you bike, you actually have to get back on it, (and if it stalls, then you gotta restart it) same with the AI racers. And even one step further, if its a bad accident, then maybe your out of the race with an injury? Anyone else agree? or want to add something of their own???

I would love for them to create a Series to participate in. Doesn't necessarily have to be the AMA, just something that replicates it. (heat races, qualifiers, main events, Classes) Simulation is what this game needs. The game is by far my favorite game I've ever played since I love motocross so much. But it kinda bums me out to see some aspects being sneaked by without any other inspection.  What I'm talking about are the physics are buggy often (backtire bounces off choppy terrain and floats off the ground until you endo). Gear ratios are sorta lacking. (The clutch doesn't perform realistically, bikes bottom end power is horrible). I think the team needs to hire someone who knows a thing or two about Physics, and really nail what a real dirtbike will do in the dirt whether it's hardpacked, wet, sand, or tacky. As far as AI improvements. Personally I don't really play singleplayer too much but I would if the singleplayer offered the AMA sx/nationals series. I fully support what you said about bar to bar racing. (improve collision physics to allow aggressive riders to actually perform legitimate block passes or at least rub plastics without taking one or the other out of the race.) I don't like taking people out, but it happens sometimes online if I need to make a quick pass and it's disappointing winning a race throwing a light contact pass and it somehow makes them front flip over a tuff block? Seriously now guys. Your wrecking idea would be AWESOME. IF, Rainbow actually does improve the collision physics. It wouldn't be a horrible issue at all to find your bike if it didn't end up 100 yds away from your body. Or if a clutch lever touching your elbow didn't faceplant you into a berm. It would make the game really exciting because wrecks would actually start playing a part in the game and people would take trying to stay on two wheels more serious instead of carelessly flying into the first corner for a holeshot (sure wrecks would still happen but not as bad if physics were better). I'd like to see less air time over triples, and more complex rhythem sections that actually make the rider use throttle control and timing to perfect a section. That's why I think realistic power on the bikes would be awesome so you can fully take advantage of complex sections to use that raw bottom end power. (Real supercross races don't consist of needing to rail a berm to make it through every dang section perfect) I want to see inside lines!! GIVE US BOTTOM END POWER! That's my ranting/input on your opinion :p

i agree for the most part. get rid of the buggies n all but keep the quads n bikes. i race both in real life so...moto is moto! actually have the same tracks n add white to the ground n have sleds too lol!! it would be cool 2 have real life scenario's like u said with crashing and re-starting your bike, etc. just have a diff mode for the sissy's who have to win all the time. plus even though the cpu has never beat me it is funny to see bubba finish 8th n joe blow is up front lol!

For any real motocross fans, i would have to agree. simulation is heading the pack. people want real and real is the way to go. having to get up from a crash and get back to your bike and even have to start it, sounds REAL and although for most would be a pain in the ass because we ALL like to win, its real, its life and there are consequences. you always hear about consistency and pace, ride smart, etc... bring it too life. now, you can always put in the settings (injuries on/off, reflex on/off, kickstart on/off) or some other real ideas. i mean i love the whips and all that we have recieved, but really, you crash and you gotta get back up, and if you crash big, your out. Have a team, have a representative and mechanics that research parts and look for sponsors and offers. none of us start out amazing at riding and with the best stuff. you gotta work your ass off, push as hard as you can and be smart about your every move. now there is a line between simulation and just fun, and they dont have to be seperated. i could see reflex, have simply the real life obstacles of injuries and crashing and having to start the bike should it stall and you forgot to clutch. now im not gonna wanna shift manually, but the clutch i would use. and a solid rise to championship, should you be good enough. smart AI where ricky and stewart are battling, now villapoto, and some mud events where concsistency and speed, smart line choice pay off. the pros wont be sitting in the back as no names podium. Again, and ive said it beore, you guys have made an amazing product rainbow and we thank you, but these are idea, suggestions, and you need our help (face it). youve made a huge step with ruts (incredible) and ive been waiting for years to see that, but the bar is always raising and set high. hell, pay some riders real pros (im sure theyd be willign to help), stick some motion sensors on them and record the real, whips, free style, all. get in the pits, swap real to real, and make it happen... Always here to pay, should the game be worth to stay... Live to ride -GOD lol...

Thanks for the feedback.  We actually have some guys that work here that race/raced amateur and pro which has been invaluable to us along with a bunch of us that are either gear heads or racing fanatics so it's been great for all of us to work on these projects.  Keep the feedback coming like everything above, we do read the forums as much as possible.

well..... to everything said...... as most of us watched all the Trailers for Reflex before it came out.... they said they didnt want to simulate things, and theres a reason for that. Simulation of complete and realistic physics is really hard, and takes a long time to learn..... and with that said, i think it would take away from the profit.... cuz some people just want the game to be easy and fun ( not including myself, im all for simulation ) There is a game however called Mx Simulator with realistic physics, and close to realistic crashing.... but if you have not heard of it, or played it, it is EXTREMELY difficult your first time..... but the guy that made is actually remaking every single race in the 2010 supercross season if you want to see for your self at  www.mxsimulator.com

Yep, Id like to see more sim, even if its just on the game modes and content. I picked up Moto GP 2010 the other day and I was impressed at the career mode / online racing. The game is pure arcade really to play, but the carrer and online are so well set up. 20 riders at a time, online championship with points. Career mode is nice too. Really wish reflex was a mixture of the two. You get to make a rider, start in the 125cc, get sponsors / team members, employ researchers / press officers to get upgrades and sponsors etc. RWB please check it out and use some of thier good points if you make another game! I remember you mntioned not many games have online like reflex, racing with 12 riders, but this has 20 racing with little lag / nice collisions and online championships on the fly. Very easy to sit in and race 4/5 races and get poitns for each race.

this game however, is more sim than ever. this game requires BRAKES. Along with the leaning of the rider, and terrain deformation. Remember how hard this was when we all first started with rider reflex? sim would be even harder. Of course, im all for sim physics.

Good to hear others share my passion for a more sim based MX game :) I think someone nailed it above. Options is a life saver! If someone wanted to just pick up and play, allow them to turn on a rider reset option, (like there is currently when you crash).  But for those who want the simulation, let's go back to excitebike style, (you crash, you gotta run back to your bike!) I do agree that Reflex did take more of a simulation path, which i am very happy about :) But something that irks me is that you can't truly do a championship series... Take doing the supercross for example. You can't progress through until you qualify for the main and then finish in the top 3 in the main. So series points mean nothing because you will be forced to finish in the top 3 of every race :(

I know their reasoning for not going for a pure simulation was because the game would be extremely hard and wouldn't appeal to an average gamer, well, it already doesn't appeal to an average gamer - Reflex is 200% harder than the past Mx games, so I don't they should take that reason into account anymore.
