How to make a 360

Hello ! how can you do a 360, that it technically appears on the bottom of the screen that the trick is called 360, because I have seen them make but I dont manage to do it, people say that pressing LB and left or right on the right stick, but it dosent work like that..

hold L1 (on PS3) and when in the center of the jump hold it down like doing a backflip, but when leaving the jump turn the right stick to the left, or right, or you can just roll the stick which I like better, hope that helps
