Using the clutch in Reflex

I used the clutch quite a bit in the old MvA games. As you can imagine. I'm still struggling to see what the clutch does in MvA Reflex. I changed how I hold the controller simply so I could have both fingers on the clutch and gas (ps3), and feel comfortable with this now. I have found that leaning back + clutch + gas doesn't do what it used to. I've tried multiple things... and maybe I'm not noticing the benefits because they are subtle. One thing I'm doing is trying to ride it like a normal bike... go into a sharp corner hold the clutch and gas, brake, release the brake release the clutch. I don't see it "holding the rpms" up... Can someone explain clutch usage in Reflex? I don't think I get it.

It doesnt seem to do much when landing off a jump which it shouldnt. Basicly I have found to give it a pop just right before you straightin up coming out of a corner. I actually probably use it more then i need to because the game is still new. It would be nice to hear how it has actually been implemented into the game. For example when our wasting your time using it or not. Overall I don't feel it needs to be used much. I could be wrong I am not the fastest guy out there ask Checkers

That's what it boils down... how it was implemented. I wish there was a straight forward answer :)

The clutch is modeled after real life. It is used to control (and/or increase) your RPM's. On a 450 4stroke I wouldn't expect the clutch to be needed much. Now on a 125 2stroke, its a different story.

Since it's modeled after real life... Does that mean you can hold it going into a hairpin while braking and holding the gas to turn and release the brake, clutch and it will be better than not using the clutch at all?
