sharing with u a bit of my first enduro
Mon, 11/02/2009 - 10:53am
hi guys! i wanna tell you my experience
yesterday nov 1st i went to my first enduro(for fun ,no competition)with
my brother kovalsky4r yz250f 09
,2 cousins dt 175 ..raptor555-5555
,my dad gxt 200 yamaha
,my uncle honda 250 road and off road bike
and the "guide man" gxt 200
and me with a gxt 200
im going to give you just a summary of my adventure
we did a ride with our bikes more than 4 hours!! we started around 2 pm and back to their home around 6pm
so we started with a little ride around the town was an easy path, the harder thing in ther was to avoid the cars cause there were too many. we went to the gas station to fill our tanks, while my cousin was wheeliying his raptor and standin with 2 side wheels.
after that we continued the same easy path now outside the town,we rode on dirt road a time...... time after we were heading to a mountain
(i didnt know where the heck was the guide taking us) so i was cool
then the difficulty of the travel was getting harder and more dirty(and i still was saying this is too easy, but was gettin harder and harder every time)
i got a little nervous cause we had to cross a river ..so i said" its just water i can do this" i crossed the river without no problems though was very very rocky...and i had no nervous from once i crossed
we kept riding through a long dirt road with ruts, puddles, rocks and mud from here to the end of the ride.
we were getting higher cause we were heading to the mountain, then got a time that we had o ride seriously(from here was a narrow path, dirty with plants ,hard rocks ,roots, trees, and ruts)
once we got in that hard path we met with a herd of cows and bulls, all of us we said "what the?" we didnt know what to do cause they were looking at us
so we started to throw em rocks ,then they started to run away, then we were following them..
we were getting deeper to the mountain and harder was the ride.but we could handle it with little problems for now ;)
cause we have climbed the mountain too much, there was a point that we had to get down again..
when the guide told us" we have to get down over here"
all of us said "holy shoot" the downhill was super rocky ,rooty, hard, very difficult, but the ugliest part was that the downhill was around 60 meters or more and very leaned or lean(i dunno how he word is) :(
then i got stucked in a big root and my rear brake got bent down"so i thought now how am i going to brake?" but my father helped me out to get the bike out and half reapir my brake..from then i only used my front brake IN a ROCKY DOWNHILL!! WTF??
at the medium of the hill i loosed my balance and i fell and broke my left bike light and horn control(next to the clutch) i didnt break my clutch lever but i broke my light buttons so again WTF??
so we finally we got down(my cousin with his raptor was the guy with true problems cause its a quad)
we kept our riding through another puddle and muddy path for a long time
then again we had to cross antother river ,but this time all of us knew how to do it..we kept several pathes like that
the thing is that we crossed more than 15 times many rocky rivers, with a level of water that i almost get my brief wet lol..but all of us got wet,and i had my wallet inside my right boot and in the end of the travel i remember that, so i noticed that i got my money wet :(
and in the lasts times we had to cross rivers a bee stung me in the right arm, while i was crossing the river(what a pain) barely i finished to cross it i started to pet my arm :) lol
the ride was ending after too many hard rivers, rocks paths, puddles, cars(in some pathes of them we had to get off of our bikes and walk next to them and helping each others..
at 6 pm we could see the full moon and barely see the path back to home
we rode around 1 hour,
so we finnaly arrived, and the frist things we did was getting our boots and shoes off and twist our socksand me( to put my money in a warm place :) )
this was my first time enduro, and the guide took us in one of the hardest and longest paths of enduro,so i felt proud of myself cause i gave my best,i rode better than my brother who is a great rider (shorter and younger than me 16 years old) lol but,the experiences is unique on of the best in my life,at the final its worthy all the troubles, but important is that we rode in family and spent more than 4 hours together enjoying and helping each others.
its a pity that we didnt take pictures cause we did not take cameras to the travel cause they told us that if we fall the cameras too :)
so i recommend all of u, if u havent enduro yet, try it,its one of the best experiences on a bike and in life u will enjoy it so much and learn a lot in how to ride a bike.
that is a summary of my experience, cause living it is so much better and longer.
just have these 3 pics cause my cousin had his phone
btw at the end we had no gas
